Robert Frettoloso grew up among the Italian neighborhoods of North Providence, RI later moving to East Grenwich RI. There he began his artistic explorations by hand-coloring wedding photographs in his uncle's photographic studio.
Accepted into the Rhode Island School of Design, Bob choose another path, went into the military and then became a police detective. He earned a degree in Criminal Justice and worked as a crime scene photographer using artistic abilities learned at the University of Rhode Island.
Moving to Marco Island, Florida, in 1994, Bob took his professional photography to new heights exhibiting his photos of Florida scenes at art shows throughout the state.
Bob's artistic interests have now turned to stone sculpture. He studied with well know sculptors such as Bill Williams, Frank de la Roche and Joe Cooper. His intense interest in sculpturing took him to Pietrasanta, Italy, where he studied among international students with Italian masters learning the traditional marble carving techniques of Michelangelo.
Bob's sculptures are currently on display at his studio on the Esplanade on Marco Island.
